Job Description
The main responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant are listed below;
- maintain the Nominal ledger and financial records
- Input accounting data, Manage the fixed asset register, Prepare and post journals
- Update various live performance spreadsheets
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Initiate internal purchase orders, monitor approval status and match against purchase invoices
- Maintain Accruals and Prepayments
- Setup new suppliers, Prepare and process invoices for payment, Raise credit notes related to material adjustment
- Process staff expenses
- Manage Banking activities, payroll, supplier and non-customer payments
- Month end reporting
The Successful Applicant
It is essential that the Accounts Assistant has the following;
- Experienced Accounts Assistant - at least 2 years' experience working within a finance team
- Part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/AAT).
- Well organised, team player with strong communication skills.
- Work effectively and accurately, while adhering to deadlines
- Positive approach to learning and problem solving.
- Confidence to seek input and escalate matters when appropriate
